HISTORY: Vikings Season 4 Promotion

Project Type: Video (as part of our overall digital marketing strategy)

Services: Campaign Strategy, Website Development, Video Production, UX Writing, Copywriting

Description: As HISTORY prepared to launch Season 4 of their hit show Vikings, we launched these two interactive digital campaigns to excite and engage their die-hard fan base.

First was “10 Hours to Valhalla,” a digital marathon event that encouraged users to binge Season 3 ahead of the new season's premiere. The episodes were available for a limited time via a microsite and fans who participated were met with challenges and rewards along the way — as well as the chance to win one final grand prize at the end.

That campaign was followed by "3D Prophecy," a video series released weekly in tandem with Season 4. Tapping into the audience's interest in technology and craftwork, we used 3D printing to recreate props or set pieces that teased key plot points for the next episode. Fans were then challenged to engage in the comments and guess the important role each item would play. Again, fans who participated were eligible to win Vikings prizes throughout the season.
