International Rescue Committee: Gala Video Featuring Utkarsh Ambudkar

Description: This video was produced for the International Rescue Committee’s annual gala, an event that serves as a rallying cry for their staff, volunteers, and supporters. The IRC came to us with a theme for the event, “Behind the Headlines.” Our job was to bring that theme to life with an uplifting narrative that would highlight the incredible work IRC staff is doing around the world.

To embody that inspiring tone, we crafted a driving spoken word poem that pulled words and phrases from headlines tied to the IRC’s mission and work (as highlighted by the animated graphics). The second half of the video illustrates how these headlines of disaster and crises turn to headlines of hope once IRC staff takes action. The video is led by Utkarsh Ambudkar (Ghosts, Pitch Perfect) and featured additional spoken word artists from the IRC community.
